Two years old… where did the time go?

©Keri Meyers Photography, LLC_1282

WHAT?  My son is two today?  You must have me mistaken with another mom, didn’t he just get here?  Wasn’t I just in the NICU?  It seems the mommy brain that I’ve been experiencing turned into mommy amnesia, my how the time has flown by.  I say that, but there were times where it seemed to drag…and that of course is even after the NICU!! view full post »

A Preemie Princess- All grown up!

ShannonHarper

This is kind of a different perspective from most of the posts that I have a read about God’s tiniest miracles.    My name is Shannon Harper and I am one of those millions of miracles, I was born on October 28th, 1984, three months before my actual birth date of January 20th, 1985.  I weighed in at a whopping 2lbs 12oz and was 12 inches long. My Mom was in the hospital with the flu. [...]

Can I have my body back now please?

On my wedding day, 39 years old, LOVED my arms and back!!

I did not meet my husband until I was 35 years old, and we were married when I was 39.  At my wedding, I had amazing abs, shoulders and yes, my butt was pretty stellar for a 39 year old. And the most important thing, my butt and thighs were not merged into one.  You could tell where my butt ended and my thighs began.  Not anymore…I’ve been caught with a case of uni-butt. view full [...]

Food for your kids…

Spencer 9 AUG 10

I have been very lucky that my son Spencer is a GREAT eater!  His first solid food was actually in Scotland at almost 11 months old and you guessed it, was bangers and mash, followed soon by fish and chips.  Funny, we were so nervous as first time parents to feed him solids and then we went crazy.  He’s never looked back, and my husband even fed him some Haggis and neaps (rutabaga) this past weekend [...]

A teenage dad’s perspective on twins

Small miracles, beautiful twins.

My name is Keith.  Three years ago, I was finishing up my last year of high school, and I was your typical 18 year old and the most important things to me were working out, music and fast cars.  Then I met a girl, and we fell in love. I would have never that my goals, priorities and my whole life would be changed so quickly.  She got pregnant, and we were terrified as she was 16.  A [...]

The little things…

Spencer2FEB11

I’ve realized as a first time mom to a preemie, my view of so many things is different than other first time moms.  Don’t get me wrong, all first time moms get excited over the firsts, but as a preemie mom…it’s like the excitement of the iPhone coming out for the first time when small things happen!  view full post »
